Itinerary:

1. Antique Market at Surabaya Street

Lined with several art kiosks and antique shops among many others, Jalan Surabaya will guarantee you enjoy browsing various ornaments and trinkets or searching for replicas of your favorite branded items. Bookworms would also enjoy hunting for rare literary finds here. Prices here aren’t fixed so you can haggle for the best bargains.

2. Batik Shop

It has a fascinating permanent exhibition of Batiks in classic and modern design. The process of Batik could be seen here either in hand drawn or stamped with its characteristic as traditional cloth from Indonesia.

3. Passer Baroe

This market, known as Pasar Baru, was built in 1960 as a “real mall” with a classic architectural design. Passer Baroe is famous as a place to buy shoes, textiles, sports goods, glasses, and all kinds of watches and clocks.

4. Leggang Jakarta @National Monument

This monument is a landmark of Jakarta. In the area around the monument, there are many bazaars, especially those that sell accessories, T-shirts with Jakarta’s writing, and statues of national monuments. After shopping, we will taste a snack from Jakarta, Kerak Telor.

5. Taste Indonesian Food

Take a rest and have lunch at a local restaurant. Try Indonesian food, especially typical Jakartan cuisine. One such food is soto betawi, a soup with coconut milk that uses beef and vegetables as its main ingredient.
