The Istiqlal mosque is the largest in South East Asia. In front of the mosque stands a beautiful Catholic Cathedral with neo-gothic architecture from Europe. These two buildings become symbols of unity in diversity. (Istiqlal Mosque is closed every Friday, can only see from the outside)
Visit China Town which became the location of Chinese settlements since the 1500 century to the present. We will pass & explore the traditional wet market and see the local community, especially Chinese people, do their business and transactions.
Seeing the Confucian Community in the Dharma Bhakti Temple as the oldest Confucianism temple in Jakarta which until now was still active and became a center of worship, religious ceremonies, and Chinese traditions.
Formerly this area was the center of the Dutch colonial government. There is a canal with a building background with Dutch architecture, therefore this area is known as little Amsterdam.
This restaurant has a classic European-style design that is elegant with a Dutch colonial atmosphere. Café Batavia is the perfect place to stop and rest after you explore the old town Batavia.
Visit a wayang (Indonesian Puppet) studio and meet a wayang master who will show you how to create, play and explain the philosophy of the puppet.
Sunda Kelapa Harbor is the center of trade on Java Island a long time ago. Currently, this port is still operated for domestic shipping with Pinisi (Traditional Wooden boat) lined up neatly on the port.
